Two held for trying to rape mute Kolkata woman

Two people were arrested for abducting and trying to rape a mute woman inside a moving vehicle here, police said Monday.

Bapi Das and Uttam Bakuli were arrested Sunday night after their vehicle was intercepted near a check post.

"The duo has been booked for abduction and attempt to commit rape, among other offences. They will be presented before a court later in the day," a police officer said.
