A 21-year-old man was arrested and his juvenile associate held for murdering their neighbour who was allegedly bullying the duo, police said Thursday.
Rohit Singh, an auto driver, and the juvenile murdered 20-year-old Yudhvir by first clobbering him with a brick and then stabbing him, police said. Both resided in west Delhi's Najafgarh area.
According to the suspected attackers, Yudhvir was a local goon and would often bully the duo. He would threaten to hurt them over trivial matters. Fed up, they decided to kill him, said police.
"The duo invited Yudhvir over drinks and after a few rounds, they initiated an argument as planned, and attacked him," said police.
"They hit him with a brick and to ensure that he was dead, stabbed him. Then they fled from the spot," added the official.
According to police, the incident took place Sep 1.
The duo was arrested Wednesday.
