A man sitting in a parked car was shot dead by two mobike-riding assailants here Thursday afternoon in a suspected gang war, police said.
Kapil, in his 30s and resident of south Delhi's Sangam Vihar, was fired upon twice around 4 p.m. in south Delhi's Pushp Vihar, police said.
At the time of the incident, Kapil was in the driver's seat and his friend was sitting next to him, police said.
While Kapil was hit by two bullets, his friend escaped unhurt, police said.
"Kapil was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead," said a police officer.
It seemed to be a case of gang war as Kapil also had a criminal background, police said.
Police suspect the involvement of some criminals from south Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area in the incident as Kapil was involved in a dispute there a few months ago.
The victim's friend was questioned to identify the culprits, police said.
