Two Indians, including an eight-year-old boy, were killed and four injured in an attack on a mall in Kenyan capital Nairobi, the external affairs ministry said Sunday.
Militant group Al Shabab claimed responsibility for Saturday's attack on the Westgate mall, in which at least 39 people were killed and more than 150 injured, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said.
Syed Akbaruddin, spokesperson of the ministry of external affairs, posted on Twitter: "According to the Indian diplomats who are at medical facilities treating those injured in Nairobi attack, 4 Indians injured, 2 others sadly died."
Those who lost their lives are Sridhar Natarajan, 40, and eight-year-old Paramshu Jain.
Natarajan worked in a local pharma firm and hails from Tamil Nadu.
Akbaruddin further tweeted: "4 Indians injured include 2 women, male adult and a girl."
The four injured are Manjula Sridhar, Mukta Jain, Kumari Poorvi Jain and Natarajan Ramachandran.
