Two people including a child were killed and 17 others injured when a bus overturned in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district on Wednesday, police said.
The accident occurred near Kanamalla village in Singarayakonda mandal of Prakasam when the bus belonging to a private travel company overturned after hitting a road divider.
The bus, carrying 42 passengers, was on its way from Visakhapatnam to Chennai. The dead have been identified as Ramakrishna (35) of Visakhapatnam and Saicharan (6) of Srikakulam.
Two of the 17 injured received critical injuries. All the injured were admitted to government and private hospitals in Ongole town.
Passengers complained that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver, who was driving the bus at a high speed. Police registered a case and were investigating.
