Two men, carrying a big bundle of firecrackers on a two-wheeler, were killed on Sunday evening and a bystander injured in a blast as the fireworks went off accidentally, police said.
The incident was reported from the MG Road here.
The blast was so severe that there was panic in the area and a huge cloud of smoke enveloped it. Policemen from several stations reached the spot, while Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Pathak, and the dog squad and bomb disposal squad also came.
The deceased, whose bodies were badly-burnt and mutilated, were identified by their Aadhar cards as Ajai Kumar and Sunny, of Avas Vikas Colony in Nai ki Mandi police station area, officials said.
