Two home-made pistols and 9 live rounds from two men who were arrested here while attempting to commit robbery, police said on Friday.
An employee of L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail was injured when one of the gang members opened fire as policemen tried to arrest them in posh Jubliee Hills area on Thursday afternoon.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy on Friday produced the three accused before the media.
He said the Commissioner's Task Force personnel acted with courage to nab the accused who were about to rob an employee of a mobile store at gun point.
The arrested include Mohammed Samiuddin, a manager of mobile phone store 'Big C' who had informed the two robbers that a collection boy collects huge amount of money from 'Big C' outlets in the city.
Mirza Mohammad Abdullah Baig alias Faheem and Abdul Khadeer had come to Hyderabad from Karnataka to commit the crime.
On a tip-off about the gang's plan, police formed into five motorcycle teams and chased a motorcycle which was being driven by Khadeer while Mirza was riding pillion. The robbers were on their way from 'Big C' outlet in Madhapur to Ameerpet when a police inspector collided his vehicle against their vehicle on Jubliee Hills Road No. 36.
The policemen overpowered Khadeer while Mirza tried to escape. In the scuffle that ensued, Mirza took out a weapon and fired at the police party, resulting injuries to Dharmendra Bhuyan, an L&T employee travelling in a van.
The investigations revealed that Mirza is a native of Hyderabad who was residing in Gulbarga, Karnataka. He was involved in many criminal cases in Hyderabad and Gulbarga. He had come into contact with Samiuddin when he was living in Hyderabad.
Khadeer is a friend of Mirza and hails from Gulbarga.
