Lecce (Italy), Oct 18 (IANS/AKI) A Moldavian and a Russian were arrested for suspected human trafficking after 52 Pakistani migrants reached the southern Italian coast aboard a yacht, the police said on Tuesday.

A total of 11 minors were among the migrants, who arrived in Santa Maria di Leuca in the Puglia region aboard the US-flagged vessel on Monday, the police said.

Italian tax police discovered the migrants when they boarded the yacht and arrested its Ukrainian and Moldavian skippers, aged 21 and 26 respectively. Local prosecutors have opened a probe into the case.
