Typhoon kills four in Philippines

Four people were killed and five injured as typhoon hit the Philippines, a statement said Saturday.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), at least 513,361 people were affected by typhoon Fung-Wong. Of which, 83,077 people were evacuated to 77 evacuation centres, Xinhua reported.

A total of 2,400 passengers, 15 vessels, 254 cargoes were stranded near Visayas due to rough sea condition.

Meanwhile, 46 flights, six international and 40 domestic, were diverted or cancelled.
