Dubai, June 11 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Britain have committed themselves to develop a closer relationship for transport cooperation.
It was decided during a meet Monday between Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and British Minister of State for Transport Simon Burns, in the presence of Edward Hobart, the British Consul-General in Dubai.
During the meeting, attended by a host of RTA top executives along with the accompanying delegation of the British minister, discussions covered means of strengthening cooperation and sharing expertise between the RTA and its British counterpart.
The two sides also examined road projects, infrastructure, and various transit systems the RTA intends to undertake in the foreseeable future.
