Abu Dhabi, Nov 29 (IANS/WAM) UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday ordered the release of over 1,100 prisoners on the occasion of the country's 45th National Day.
The move of the release of 1,102 prisoners comes as part of the President's keenness to give pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life and ease the suffering of their families.
Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi, Ali Mohammed Al Balushi, said the public prosecution department in the UAE has begun the release process, and expressed gratitude to the President for his decision.
