A Ukrainian woman was arrested and over one kg of cocaine worth several crore rupees seized from her at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international airport here, an official said on Wednesday.
Natalia Abrelenko, 33, was intercepted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials after she landed at the city airport from an Etihad flight from Abu Dhabi late on Tuesday.
"Around 1.2 kg cocaine wrapped like chocolate was found from her possession. She was carrying the consignment from Sao Paolo (Brazil) and it was meant for Istanbul. The lady was supposed to fly to Mumbai from Kolkata to catch a flight for Istanbul," an NCB official said.
