Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Chennaiyin FC striker Fikru Tefera said his main aim is to help his side win the title in the second edition.
He also said that he has no ill-will towards his former club Atletico de Kolkata.
The second edition of ISL begins on October 3.
"I want to win it (ISL) again and perform even better this time. We have a very good group here at Chennaiyin and have the potential to go all the way," Fikru was quoted as saying by goal.com on Tuesday.
"A conversation with Marco Materazzi (coach) convinced me to join Chennaiyin FC. The way he spoke to me, it helped me made up my mind. It was a very positive conversation and we have already built-up a great understanding in the pre-season," Fikru said.
The 29-time internationally capped captain of Ethiopia, made it clear he has no ill-feeling towards Sourav Ganguy co-owned side ATK.
"I have no disappointments, sometimes in life things don't work out. I am not thinking about the past and only looking forward to performing for Chennaiyin FC," Firku said.
"As a forward the objective in every game is to score but the ultimate goal is to make Chennaiyin FC the champions," he said.
He also praised coach Materazzi as being someone who perfectly understood his players.
"He is a legend so there is plenty to learn from him but he understands me. In fact he understands all the players and that makes it easier for each of us. We all enjoy training under him and look forward to a successful season," Fikru said.
The side is currently having pre-season training camp in Perugia.
