UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks against Yemen's defence ministry which reportedly killed over 20 soldiers and injured dozens of others.
"The secretary-general calls on all concerned to fully cooperate with the investigation announced by President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi with a view to bringing the perpetrators to justice," Xinhua reported citing the UN chief's spokesperson in a statement.
Ban recalled that the security council has reaffirmed its readiness to consider further measures in response to any actions by individuals or parties that are aimed at disrupting the transition process, it said.
At least 20 soldiers were killed and more than 42 others injured when suicide car bombings rocked the Yemeni defence ministry in the capital Sann'a Thursday morning, reports said.
Yemeni security sources said following the explosions, many assailants wearing military uniforms broke into three departments of the ministry, and exchanged gunfire with the troops.
