The UN observer group for the India-Pakistan border is investigating reports of renewed cross-border firing, a UN spokesperson said on Thursday.

Replying to a reporter's question, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said the UN headquarters has contacted the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) about the border tension.

UNMOGIP was looking into it and the UN headquarters was awaiting its report, he said at his daily briefing.
