The Bangladeshi selectors have handed Muktar Ali and Mosaddek Hossain their first national team call-ups while leaving out injured Mushfiqur Rahim.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named a 14-man squad for the last two Twenty20 Internationals of the four matches against Zimbabwe. The hosts lead the series 2-0 while the third match will be played on Wednesday, reports bdnews24.com.
The selectors decided to rest seamers Mustafizur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain. Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury has been left out of the fold for failing to live up to billing. Taskin Ahmed is in to replace Mushfiqur while Mohammad Shahid has made the squad too.
Mushfiqur limped off the field in the second match on Sunday.
"Mushfiqur has strained his right hamstring while batting. He will undergo a scan in Dhaka," team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said.
"Usually it takes two to three weeks to recover from such injuries. However, we will be able to assess his condition better once we have the scan report."
The squad: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Shakib Al Hasan (vice-captain), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Mahmudullah, Arafat Sunny, Nurul Hasan, Mohammad Shahid, Abu Haider Rony, Mosaddek Hossain, Muktar Ali.
