Around 40 Delhi University students Sunday continued their protest outside Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani's house here against the scrapping of a four-year undergraduate course.
The students are pursuing Bachelors of Honours in Management Studies (BMS) course. With the university reverting back to the three-year undergraduate programme, these students who opted for the four-year course feel they face an uncertain future.
The six B.Tech and BMS courses will be rolled back and there will be no fresh admissions to them, the university said Saturday.
Earlier in the day, around 60 B.Tech students protested along with some BMS students outside Irani's house in Lodi Garden area, but they returned back to their homes after getting an assurance from the HRD ministry to continue their four-year course.
"B.Tech. students stopped their protest Sunday when they received an assurance letter from the HRD ministry informing them the B.Tech course during the 2013-14 academic year will continue as four-year course," said a police official.
