The Uttar Pradesh government Thursday declared a compensation of Rs.two lakh for the kin of each state resident who died in the June 16 floods in Uttarakhand, an official said.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting here presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
The state government, through another decision, agreed to give 20 acre of land in the state capital to milk marketing cooperative Amul for setting up a dairy plant.
According to the official, the land would be given at rates fixed by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC), and Amul has been asked to make the plant operational within the next 18 months.
