Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Wednesday said that the UPA government had improved the performance of the economy, made growth more inclusive and ensured better delivery of welfare programmes.
Speaking at a function at his official residence to mark four years of the United Progressive Alliance-II government, the prime minister said his government had improved India's relations with the changing world.
Speaking of the record of nine years of the UPA government, the prime minister said its achievements had been possible with the inspiring leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
"Improved performance of economy, making growth more inclusive, better delivery of welfare programmes and improved relations with changing world...We have taken (the country) forward in all these areas," the prime minister said.
However, there were many more miles to go, he added.
