Best service finder UrbanClap, which enables individuals and small businesses to manage and grow their clientele, has launced its mobile app in Bengaluru, the co-founder said.
"We started UrbanClap inspired by the immense potential that the highly unorganized services market in India holds. After our success in the capital, Bengaluru is our next city of choice for launch," said Varun Khaitan, co-founder and director, UrbanClap.com
"There is a huge demand for excellent service professionals in the city known for its technology and culture-loving citizens. We plan to galvanise this space by connecting the talented musicians, photographers and other artists with those in need of their services," Khaitan added .
Currently 23 services are on offer from UrbanClap in Bengaluru and the aim is to stretch it to 100 categories by the end of 2015.
From a plumber to a wedding photographer or a yoga teacher, you can find everything on UrbanClap. You only need to take a few seconds, enter your needs on the Android app and the platform will bring the right professionals to you, said Khaitan.
UrbanClap's business model charges the listed professionals for getting business via the UrbanClap app.
The startup raised Rs.10 crore from SAIF Partners, Accel Partners, and Snapdeal's Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal.
The next launch is in Mumbai and from there to 10 other Indian cities. UrbanClap currently employs 50, and has plans to raise the headcount to 250 in the next six months.
