US ambassador Richard R. Verma, is likely to discuss business opportunities in solar energy, tourism and infrastructure sectors during his meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday.
Officials said the chief minister will apprise the visiting dignitary of the progress in India's most populous state and the steps it has taken to improve the business environment.
Officials also said the US has been showing a keen interest in business opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, especially owing to its large consumer base.
Verma's predecessor Nancy Powell had visited Uttar Pradesh twice and held wide-ranging parleys with state government officials.
