US stocks waver narrowly amid earnings, data
US stocks were mixed on Thursday as investors digested big company quarterly earnings and economic reports.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average on Thursday fell 68.92 points, or 0.37 per cent, to 18,403.25, Xinhua news agency reported.
The S&P 500 dipped 2.78 points, or 0. 13 per cent, to 2,163.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 2.80 points, or 0.05 per cent, to 5,142.61.
Shares of Facebook, Inc. jumped about 2 per cent around midday on Thursday after the US tech giant delivered better-than-expected quarterly results.
On Wednesday, US stocks closed mixed as Wall Street digested the US central bank's statement released after the conclusion of a two-day policy meeting.
