Use bed linen with benefits of seaweed

Portico New York, an Indian home linen and soft furnishing company, has teamed up with smartfiber AG, a German company that specialises in functional cellulose fiber like SeaCell, to launch a unique line replete with benefits of seaweed.

SeaCell forms the basis for natural textiles of high quality, which exhibit well-being benefits for the skin. The line is made using SeaCell-fibers, which involve the use of a patented procedure to permanently incorporate seaweed in the fiber.

"We hope that with this association with smartfiber AG, we will help our customers get a much needed healthful and sound good night's sleep on our collection of bed linen that will be produced using SeaCell-fibers," Arun Bhawsingka, CEO - Portico New York, said in a statement.

The fibers contain active agents of seaweed, which allow a nutrient exchange between the fibers of the fabric and the skin, thus providing a long lasting effect of wellness and protection against environmental influences.

The seaweed in SeaCell-fibers also alleviate skin diseases and can also enhance healing processes in the skin. It can also protect from premature skin ageing and are well suited for application in all textiles.

Portico's new SeaCell collection is priced between Rs.5,999 to Rs.7,999.
