Uttar Pradesh continued to shiver in the winter chill Saturday due to heavy rains across the state Friday.
Heavy snowfall in parts of Uttarakhand forced the closure of the highways leading to Gangotri and Badrinath, an official said.
The weather conditions are likely to prevail for three more days in both the states, the Met Office said.
Friday's minimum temperature in Lucknow was 5 degrees Celsius - five notches below the season's average temperature.
The maximum temperature was 18.8 degrees Celsius - six notches below the season's average.
Rains are likely to continue at many places of the state for the next two days, regional Met director J.P. Gupta told IANS.
Due to heavy rain in the past two days, water logging and power outages have been reported in many parts of the city.
Incessant rains also played a spoilsport at many weddings Friday.
