Nine contestants for the Ghaziabad parliamentary seat, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) General V.K. Singh and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP's) Shazia Ilmi, filed their nomination papers Friday.
Three contestants -- Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Mukul Upadhyay, Samajwadi Party's (SP) Sudhan Rawat and Independent Aqueela Begum had filed their nominations Thursday.
All the 12 submitted their nomination papers to Assistant Returning Officer Keshav Kumar at the Ghaziabad collectorate.
General V.K. Singh's nomination papers were proposed by advocate Chandra Mohan Sharma, former minister and MLA Baleshwar Tyagi, former MLA Sunil Sharma and former Loni MLA Roop Chaudhary.
General V.K. Singh, 62, in his affidavit said his native place is Bhiwani in Haryana and annual income Rs.5,40,000.
The former army chief has mentioned two criminal cases registered against him under sections 186, 353, 147, 148, 149 and 36 of the Indian Penal Code and a defamation case filed by Lieutenant General Tajendra Singh against him in a Delhi court in which the court granted him bail.
Regarding his movable property, he has mentioned cash in hand and in bank, jewellery, two weapons -- a double-barrel gun and a Springfield rifle -- and a car in his name valued at Rs.74,06,053 and movable property valued at Rs.29,50,991 in his wife Bharti Singh's name.
In addition, he has immovable property that includes agricultural land in Bhiwani, Haryana, two residential plots in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh and Panchkula, Haryana of 500 square yards each, a flat in Gurgaon, Haryana and agricultural land in his wife's name in Bajur, Uttarakhand.
Ilmi, 43, in her affidavit, mentioned her residence at Greater Kailash, New Delhi. In her crime record, she mentioned a criminal case for defamation against her in a Delhi court for which a quashing petition has been filed.
Regarding movable property, she mentioned cash balance of Rs.65,12,862 in fixed deposit and savings in her name. Her spouse Shazid Malik maintains a balance of Rs.5,45,31,551 in his name.
Other assets, including gift from spouse and jewellery are worth Rs.2,67,24,702 while her spouse maintains a Mercedes Benz and a yacht.
The total movable assets in her spouse's name are Rs.13,32,68,830. The immovable assets include flats and building in Delhi and Mumbai worth Rs.17,500,000 in her name while immovable property worth Rs.125,849,077 is in her husband's name.
