Valencia midfielder Francis Coquelin returned to the field after being out for five months due to injury, the La Liga side confirmed on Monday.
The 27-year-old French midfielder sustained a rupture of the Achilles tendon during a training session on March 16 after which he underwent an operation, reports Efe.
His recovery was estimated to take six months.
"It's good to have Coquelin back," Valencia said on its official website, though coach Marcelino Toral said "the club wants to make sure he is 100 percent ready."
The Spanish club reiterated that Coquelin had entered a recovery phase and the midfielder "seems happy and excited" about his recovery.
The Bats website added that Coquelin was set to rejoin his teammates in the training warm-up soon.
