Dutch filmmaker Tamar Van Den Dop won the best director award for her movie "Supernova" at the 20th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) that concluded Monday.
"Tales" by Iran's Rakshan Banietemad, and "Eyes of the Thief" directed by Najwa Najjar of Palestine were adjudged joint winners of the best film award.
Shira Gaffen of Israel got the jury award (special mention) for her film "Self Made".
All the winners were handed out Golden Royal Bengal Tiger trophies.
For the first time in its history, the festival turned competitive this year.
Fifteen films by women directors from across the globe competed for the top jury award, the Golden Royal Bengal Tiger trophy in the Women Directors segment.
