Tamil actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has been roped in to pair with superstar Kiccha Sudeep in the untitled Kannada remake of Telugu blockbuster "Mirchi", which went on floors recently.
"We have roped in Varalaxmi to play one of the heroines in the film. We are on the lookout for the rest of the cast. The regular shooting commences soon," the film's producer N.M. Kumar, told IANS.
The remake is being helmed by Sudeep.
"Mirchi" was directed by Koratala Siva in Telugu. It featured Prabhas Varma, Richa Gangopadhyay and Anushka Shetty in the lead.
The original reportedly minted over Rs.50 crore at the box office within its opening two weeks. Actor-producer John Abraham has already bought its remake rights for a Hindi film.
