As many as 25 Vietnamese women footballers will convene on Tuesday and then have six friendly games, including with Thai peers, in preparation for winning a berth to Olympic Rio 2016, the Vietnam Football Federation said on Monday.
The last qualifying round of women football, slated for February 29-March 9 in Japan, is expected to be tough, so Vietnam coach Mai Duc Chung has summoned veteran footballers, including Kieu Trinh, Tuyet Dung and Hai Hoa, reports Xinhua.
Vietnam will clash with China on February 29, Australia on March 2, North Korea on March 4, Japan on March 7 and South Korea on March 9. Two top teams will qualify for Rio 2016.
