Volkswagen launches new variant of Vento

Automobile manufacturer Volkswagen Wednesday launched the new variant of sedan Vento priced between Rs.7.44 lakh and Rs.10.49 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

"The new Vento 1.5 TDI, which is available with our advanced 7-Speed Dual-Clutch DSG automatic transmission, underlines the fact that Volkswagen cars are at the forefront with class-leading technologies, in their respective segments," said Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India.

According to the company, the new vehicle is powered by a four-cylinder engine which comes in three different powerplant variants.

Vento's 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI turbo-diesel engine gives a fuel economy figure of 21.21 kms per litre (kpl). The 1.2 TSI engine delivers 16.93 kpl and 1.6 MPI engine returns 15.04 kpl.

Other new features include dual front airbags on all variants, redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels, and new more powerful dual-beam headlamps.
