A CBI (Central Bureau of investigation) team will be reaching Bhopal on Monday for probing the Vyapam sacm. As per the Supreme Court guidelines, the CBI has formed a 40-member team.
Thus far, the investigation was done by a special task force (STF) under a special investigation team (SIT) formed by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had July 9 assigned the CBI to probe the Vyapam scam.
The scam came into the news in July, 2013. The investigation was then carried out by STF. Later, the STF was monitored by the SIT formed in April, 2014 and led by retired Madhya Pradesh judge Chandresh Bhushan.
