Director Matt Reeves has marked the beginning of filming the new instalment of "Planet of the Apes" movie series by sharing the on-set photo via Twitter.
Reeves shared the first photo of "War of the Planet of the Apes", which was taken on the filming set. The picture showed a silhouette of two actors on a lonely beach, reports aceshowbiz.com.
One person stood while gesturing another person on horseback. The director captioned it: "#It has begun. @ApesMovies."
Fellow filmmakers responded to Reeves's posting on Twitter.
"Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed wrote, "This excites me," to which Matt replied, "Ha! Thank you, sir!"
"Finding Nemo" director Andrew Stanton posted, "Yes! #bewarethebeastman." Matt then replied, "Ha! How are you, sir??"
Reeves also retweeted some fan postings.
"@mattreevesLA @ApesMovies WAR is coming! Can't wait to see you and @andyserkis knock it out of the park again!" The director then replied, "Andy is peerless," a fan wrote.
Matt also confirmed that Michael Giacchino would return to compose scores for "War of the Planet of the Apes".
Starring Andy Serkis, Gabriel Chavarria, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller and Woody Harrelson, "War of the Planet of the Apes" is scheduled to release in US on July 14, 2017.
