Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar on Tuesday hit out at the Congress for targeting the government over delay in convening the winter session of Parliament and said that the dates would be decided soon.

"The CCPA (Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs) will meet in a couple of days and decide the dates," Kumar told reporters here, adding that the winter session of Parliament would be convened in December itself.

Accusing the Congress of suffering from "selective amnesia", the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader said that allegations regarding the delay in the session have "no base as the grand old party has delayed the session" on several occasions citing various reasons.

Kumar's remarks come on a day when Congress' floor leaders in Parliament hit out at the government for deliberately delaying the winter session to avoid questions from the opposition benches which can hamper its prospects in the Gujarat assembly polls.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of delaying the winter session on "flimsy grounds".

Gandhi on Monday said the government in its "arrogance" has "cast a dark shadow on the country's parliamentary democracy".

Communist Party of India-Marxist General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said that the government is practising Gujarat in Delhi by not convening Parliament.
