Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said he will ensure that Delhi gets full statehood in two years and within the next 10 years everyone in the city will have a house.
"I am saying this here in front of you all. If in two years I don't make Delhi a full state, you can change my name. The day it is declared a full state, everyone will have a pucca house within 10 years," he told a public rally here.
Urging people to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal said that he can also enter the house of the Prime Minister to get full statehood for Delhi.
"If we can enter the house of Delhi Lt Governor to get the signature on files, we can also enter the house of the Prime Minister to get full statehood for Delhi."
"We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the people of Delhi. But now is the time we should fight for full statehood.
"Delhi has to give all the seven (Lok Sabha seats) to AAP. If this happens, we will ensure full statehood to Delhi in two years."
Addressing people after the inauguration of two Mohalla Clinics at Azadpur Mandi, Kejriwal said that within four years of coming to power, the people were getting free education, health facilities and also the "cheapest electricity in the world".
"Nowhere in the world people are paying only 1 rupee for electricity but Delhi is getting it for 1 rupee."
He said his government was going to install CCTV cameras in the city from next week. "This could have been done earlier but Modiji sat on its file for three years."
Attacking the BJP at another public address at Gandhi Nagar later in the day, he said his government was not diving people on religious basis.
"The schools we built is for all and is giving free education to all. Our hospital is treating everyone for free, irrespective of religion. We don't discriminate people on religious basis like the BJP."
He also said that his government was providing cheap electricity in all areas. "We never said that we will supply water to only Hindu areas."
Urging people to vote for his party in the Lok Sabha polls, he said the BJP, which came to power in 2014, had done only one successful work -- of spreading hate in the country.
"It was Pakistan that wanted to divide us on the basis of religion for 70 years. But India never allowed it to happen. But now Modi and Shah in five years have done what Pakistan could not do. The poison they have spread is not good for the country and its development.
"If 2019, if they are back in power, the country will be finished. They are very dangerous people. Shah has said that if in 2019 they win, they will rule till 2050. They will change the Constitution."
