On Sep 27, 2001, Junior NTR's earliest blockbuster Telugu film "Student No. 1" released and catapulted him to stardom. Now, on the same date this year, he plans to release his upcoming Telugu action-drama "Ramayya Vasthavayya" hoping for the same result.
"The unit is currently shooting in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The shoot is likely to be completed soon and the makers want to release the film on Sep 27, co-inciding with the release day of 'Student No. 1'," the film's spokesperson told IANS.
"Student No. 1" was filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli's directorial debut, which featured NTR as a college-goer with an unpleasant flashback.
Some of Junior NTR's other hits include "Aadi", "Simhadri" and "Yamadonga".
Harish Shankar is directing "Ramayya Vasthavayya", which also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shruti Haasan and Vidyullekha Raman. It has music by S.S. Thaman.
Dil Raju is the producer of the film, which went on floors Jan 4.
