With theatre, you have intimacy with audience: American actor

US-based actor Faran Tahir who returned to theatre world with the play "Othello", believes the medium gives intimacy with the audience.

"I think theatre has a wonderful way of connecting with the audience. You can do amazing movies, but you don't have the audience there. You do your work and then it is given to the audience.

"What's beautiful about theatre is that you have this immediacy, and you have this intimacy with the audience. I always call the audience the final character in a play," Tahir, who has worked in films like "Iron Man", "Star Trek" and "Flight World War II", said in a statement.

Shakespeare Theatre Company's production which took place at the Sidney Harman Hall here for 13 days, till August 27, was free for all.

Tahir, whose origins are in Pakistan, is majorly seen on the small screen and has shows like "Law & Order", "The Practice", "Lost", "Grey's Anatomy", "NCIS: Los Angeles", "Supernatural", "Criminal Minds", "The Blacklist" and "Prison Break: Resurrection" to his credit.
