VfL Wolfsburg has announced the signing of China's young talent Zhang Xizhe from Beijing Guoan FC on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Zhang, China's Young Player of 2012, was officially introduced by the Bundesliga side at a press conference in Wolfsburg Tuesday, which was also attended by the club manager Klaus Allofs and coach Dieter Hecking, reports Xinhua.

Due to the increasing cooperation with China and the signing of Zhang, Wolfsburg launched their official homepage in Chinese Monday. Besides that, the Wolfsburg press conference was broadcasted live in China for the first time.

"I am very happy that I can play in such an excellent club of the Bundesliga. And I am ready to do my best," Zhang, the first Chinese to play for the Lower Saxony side and the 10th player from China to join a German Bundesliga club.

The 23-year-old attacking mid-fielder can play on the flanks as well as in the center. The new arrival received the squad number 29.

Zhang, who scored 24 goals in 121 appearances for Chinese Super League giants Beijing Guoan, told reporters that he will travel with the Bundesliga giants to South Africa for training in January.

The Chinese youngster will first of all be given the time needed to adjust himself, said Hecking. In his eyes, Zhang has strong competitiveness for a main position and his fluency in German language has proved his professional attitude towards work.

The "Wolves", who are standing second in the league, will encounter struggling and relegation-threatened Borussia Dortmund in the 16th round of Bundesliga Wednesday.
