A five-month baby boy was abducted by a woman in her late 20s from a Delhi hospital Wednesday afternoon, police said.
"The boy's mother, Soni Sharma, had brought him to ESI Hospital in Moti Nagar area in west Delhi for a medical checkup. Her eight-year-old son, Ashu, was also with her when an unknown woman took away the baby after befriending them," said a police officer.
When Ashu was carrying the baby and his mother had gone the pharmacy, the unknown woman came to him, took the baby in her lap, police said.
The woman gave Ashu Rs.10 to buy potato chips and by the time he returned she had escaped with the baby, police said.
Police said a case of kidnapping has been registered.
