Woman throws acid on husband

After a heated argument over a petty issue, a 24-year-old woman, along with her family members, overpowered her husband and threw acid on his face here, police said Tuesday. The woman and her younger sister were arrested.

Rabeena attacked Nasiruddin, 22, a driver, Sunday afternoon in east Delhi's Gokalpuri area and he gave a complaint Tuesday evening, police said.

Nasiruddin, who married Rabeena three months ago, had gone to his in-laws' home in Gokalpuri where he had a heated argument with his wife, police said.

"During the argument, Rabeena and her family members overpowered Nasiruddin and she threw acid on his face," said a police officer.

"On the victim's statement, Rabeena and her younger sister Chando, 22, have been arrested and a hunt is on for her other family members," said the officer.
