Workers stopped work in the factory and demanded compensation for the deceased and his family.

Workers union leaders from various nearby companies, including Maruti Suzuki, Honda and Hero Motocop, gathered outside the company where the accident occurred, demanding justice for deceased's kin.

Officials from the labour department, leaders of the workers union, family members of the deceased and the management representatives reached an agreement for payment of Rs eight lakh as compensation, Rs three lakh fixed deposit for Prasad's minor daughter, free education for the deceased's minor son and payment of Rs 5,000 every month for the family till Prasad's son turns 21.

Police said they got an initial complaint but no FIR was registered so far. SPM Autocomp is India's largest manufacturer of exhaust manifolds.
