Actor Sahil Vaid, who is gearing up to perform alongside veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in the theatre show "The Father", says working with him is special and energetic.
"As an actor working with Naseeruddinji is always special and energetic. He is an inspiration. The time spent with or around him has always helped me to learn this or that which helps me as an actor. Working with him is like a dream come true," Sahil said in a statement.
Sahil has appeared in films like "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania", "Badrinath Ki Dulhania", "Kaanchi: The Unbreakable", "Bittoo Boss" and "Bank Chor".
Directed by Naseeruddin and his wife Ratna Pathak Shah, the show will take place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts here from September 1-30. Sahil will be a part of the show from September 11 till September 21.
Talking about the play, Sahil, who has also done sound designing for it, said: "This play is about a father suffering from Alzheimer's disease -- his various stages of memory degradation and how it affects people around him. I am an imaginary character who only the father (Naseeruddin) sees, I claim to be different people in his life".
"First I claim to be his son-in-law who is very friendly, and then I claim to be his son-in-law who is very rude to him and finally when the father is in the hospital, I claim to be a ward boy.
"Basically he sees my face whenever he sees a male element around him. And whenever he leaves reality and enters his world of imagination," he added.
