Thailand's former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra Sunday thanked her supporters via Facebook for their support.

"In the past week, many changes took place in our country. Many of you have expressed concern and asked what I have been doing. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your messages via Facebook and other channels," she wrote on her Facebook.

This was Yingluck's first message to the people after the coup May 22, Xinhua reported.

"I would like to thank you again for the support for me all along. I would also like to extend my moral support to all Thais," she wrote.
