Actor Zac Efron doesn't think it should always be a man to make the first move in a relationship.

The 28-year-old has been single since his split from girlfriend Sami Miro earlier this year.

"I think it's fine for girls to ask boys out. I actually prefer it," Heat magazine quoted Efron as saying, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

However, the "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" star says that he can't hide his feelings when he likes a girl.

"A girl can tell I like her when I blush or start telling bad jokes," he said.

Efron is usually comfortable with showing his emotions.

"I'm not afraid to cry. Not all of the time. But when I'm watching a movie, I'll sometimes shed a tear," Efron said.

The actor, who is also filming for "Baywatch", was once left red-faced after mistaking someone else's fiance for his own girlfriend.

"I was walking behind somebody who I thought was the girl I was at a party with, and I lifted her up and whirled her around... and it was not my date."

"It was somebody's fiancee and the guy in question was not amused. I had to apologise and everyone seemed upset. That wasn't fun," Efron said.
