Zen Hospital awarded for advanced laparoscopic surgery (Lead, with corrections)

Zen Hospital -- the first in Maharashtra to start 3D laparoscopic surgery -- was on Tuesday announced as the Best Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Maharashtra.

Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, handed over the award to the hospital's Director, Roy Patankar.

Zen Hospital is India's first to receive a fellowship for minimal access surgery by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

It is the only hospital to have 3D laparoscopic surgery, 4K image enhancement surgery and specially required laparoscopic cancer surgery.
