The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is finally about to announce the new chief of its Delhi unit. According to BJP leaders in the state, Bhojpuri actor and singer Manoj Tiwari, a Lok Sabha member from North East Delhi constituency, will be the new president of the party in the state.

The Delhi unit of the party had been the slowest of the three important parties in Delhi - the other two being the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party - to adapt to the city state's changed demographics, where an ever larger number of migrants from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh have added to its diversity. With Tiwari, the BJP would finally have accepted the changed reality.
