Most politicians tend to get into silent mode once the polling’s over, preferring to wait till the results are announced. Not so RJD chief Lalu Prasad ,who, during the last assembly polls in Bihar, kept saying his party was going to win even as the counting was on. Why? According to Prasad, “If I stop saying we’re going to win, my counting agents (workers of political parties who are present during the counting of votes) will feel demoralised and not work properly.” It appears several Congress leaders have taken this to heart and plan to do the same in the coming elections.
