Last week, industry chamber CII managed to monopolise rival chamber Ficci’s event, that too on foreign shores. CII, Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) and Fraunhoffer Institute of Germany signed an agreement to set up a Green and Clean Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. The agreement was signed in the presence of Ficci President Rajan Bharti Mittal, who was steering a business delegation to Germany led by Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma. Indian journalists whom Ficci had invited were also present. But when the Ficci team realised that the signing ceremony was a CII affair, it decided not to share details of the agreement with the media.
