“Panditji’s M&M wisdom” (January 4) disclosed some inconsistencies. Deal-maker Anil Singhvi was proud to assert that he was able to finalise the deal between Enam and Axis without leaving a clue that they “were working on something like that”. But in the same breath, he finds fault with Hero-Honda for “the opacity surrounding the deal”, raising the question of corporate governance. Singhvi should not have criticised Hero Honda over the way they have struck the deal. The Axis-Enam deal must be considered as sensitive as the Hero-Honda agreement.
