Letters:Poll tie-up in UP

A Bihar-type Mahagathbandhan is being considered in Uttar Pradesh where Assembly polls are due in 2017. If the Congress is to tie up with Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal, the point of contention would be who to project as the alliance’s chief ministerial face. 

The Congress has announced Sheila Dixit as its CM candidate. Singh as well as a nominee of the Samajwadi Party would also eye the chair in Lucknow. These factors considered, will such an anti-Bharatiya Janata Party front bear fruit?
