This refers to the report "Modi & Obama's back-room boys broke impasse on n-deal in London" (January 27). The news mentioned that the major differences between the US and India, pertaining to the liability of compensation with regard to the nuclear deal, have been ironed out. But so far, it is not clear exactly what kind formula has been worked out to sort out these differences. We should consider the recent events in technologically superior nations such as Japan, during the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and our history of encountering lapses in getting compensation for victims of an industrial disaster (for example, the Bhopal gas tragedy) and bringing the culprits to justice.

The Narendra Modi government must present a blueprint of the deal worked out between two "langotiya yaars" (good friends) on the floor of the house. After all, it is the same US President and his administration who denied a visa to Modi when he was a representative of the people of Gujarat.
